Abordar el arte como un lenguaje que comunica emociones, compartir lazos afectivos y cultivar un sentido de comunidad han sido gestos y acciones fundamentales para la práctica artística multifacética de Fernanda Laguna (1972). La obra y el activismo de esta artista argentina son reconocidos por estos días en dos exposiciones en Nueva York: “El camino del corazón”, en The Drawing Center, y “Bienvenides a mi muestra en Nueva York!!!!!!”, en Bortolami Gallery.
The Pencil is a Key:drawings by Incarcerated Artists
«The Pencil Is a Key: Drawings by Incarcerated Artists» is an exhibition of more than 140 drawings by imprisoned artists from around the globe, including countries such as Chile, Venezuela, Brazil, and Cuba. Featuring works produced over a roughly two-hundred-year period, the exhibition presents powerful evidence of the persistence of human creativity in the most inhumane of circumstances. The exhibition interprets the term “incarceration” broadly to mean any situation in which an individual is denied their freedom.
UN LABERINTO PARA EL DIBUJO EXPANDIDO. PRIMERA INDIVIDUAL DE MATEO LÓPEZ EN EEUU
La primera muestra individual de Mateo López (Colombia, 1978) en Estados Unidos consiste en una gran instalación multidisciplinar, un laberinto con puertas que nos conducen a distintas habitaciones en las que se despliegan todas las herramientas artísticas que emplea López para acercarnos a amplia visión del “dibujo”.
Sol Lewitt, el Coleccionista
The Drawing Center, en Nueva York, presenta Drawing Dialogues: Selections from the Sol LeWitt Collection (Selecciones de la Colección Sol LeWitt), una exposición con más de un centenar de obras de más de sesenta artistas de su extraordinaria colección. Se trata de la primera exposición a gran escala de la colección de Sol LeWitt que haya tenido lugar en Nueva York en más de treinta años.
