THREE PROMINENT EXHIBITIONS FROM VORTIC’S OUT COLLECTIVE
As part of a collaboration between Vortic, Artishock and Artgonotlar in Istanbul, and aiming to open spaces for under-represented artists, we selected three exhibitions from the OUT Collective project that stand out for their relevance today as socio-political and gender narratives and for their curatorial approach.

Como parte de una alianza entre Vortic, Artishock y otros medios especializados en arte de Estambul y Londres que persigue abrir espacios a artistas subrepresentados, seleccionamos tres exposiciones del proyecto OUT Collective que destacan por su pertinencia hoy como relato socio-político y de género y por su enfoque curatorial.
The Matter of Photography in The Americas
The artists featured in «The Matter of Photography» marshal materials far afield of those traditionally associated with picture taking. Drawings and prints, films and installations, photocopies and books are all brought to bear in powerful critiques of the medium’s development and historical functions.
LA MATERIA DE LA FOTOGRAFÍA EN LAS AMÉRICAS
Los artistas presentados en «The Matter of Photography in the Americas (La materia de la fotografía en las Américas)», exposición abierta hasta el 30 de abril en el Cantor Arts Center de la Universidad Stanford (California), reúnen materiales bastante apartados de aquellos tradicionalmente asociados con la producción fotográfica.
XEROGRAFÍA EN BRASIL, 1970-1990
La exposición «Xerografía: Copyart in Brazil, 1970-1990», que se presentó hasta mediados de diciembre pasado en la galería de la Universidad de San Diego como parte de Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, examina los usos innovadores de la fotocopia comercial y otras formas de reproducción impresa masiva por parte de artistas activos en Brasil durante esas dos décadas políticamente complejas.
