In his first solo exhibition in the United Kingdom, Allan Weber brings the visual and material codes of the favela into the international art circuit—without translation or dilution. Through installations, photographs, and affectively charged actions, the Brazilian artist articulates a radically situated critique that avoids the clichés of social art, offering instead a powerful vision of collective life, resistance, and the gig economy in the Global South.
EL DESACUERDO: UN TEATRO DE DECLARACIONES
«The disagreement: A theatre of statements» reúne a once artistas brasileños contemporáneos cuyas prácticas provienen de una amplia variedad de orígenes culturales y, por lo tanto, apuntan a un dilatado espectro de preocupaciones estéticas y políticas. Así, el conjunto de obras de esta exposición aborda no solo la sociedad estratificada y sincrética de Brasil, sino también las contradicciones ideológicas inherentes a las prácticas artísticas contemporáneas desde una perspectiva transcultural.
