Extra-planetary Commitment
«Extra-Planetary Commitment» is not so much about space flight as it is about the freedom of imagination to critique current establishments and political practices as well as our contemporary daily life. Technology is already redefining the human body and our relationship to nature. Artworks compare the pictorial space of the imaginary with the sculptural conditions of material reality. While imagination can expand into worlds free of gravitation and time, sculptural materiality gives way to a non-human agency.
Una Escultura Sentimental:historia de un Joven
Galería Patricia Ready, en Santiago de Chile, presenta hasta el 20 de abril la muestra «Semiprecioso» del chileno Miguel Soto (Santiago, 1990), donde el artista analiza cómo la ficción se apodera de los relatos para formar un nuevo paradigma de lo real a partir de una fotografía y tres esculturas. La curadora de la exposición, Ángels Miralda, comparte su texto curatorial con Artishock.
Los Cimientos, los Pilares y el Firmamento
La exposición «Los Cimientos, los Pilares y el Firmamento», que se presenta en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) de Quinta Normal a partir de este 24 de noviembre, congrega a un grupo de artistas interesados en la investigación de los materiales y el análisis botánico.
