Chile’s Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes (National Council for Culture and the Arts – CNCA) launched an open call for a Chilean or foreign curator -with or without residence in Chile- to be responsible for the preparation of the curatorial project to be exhibited at the Chilean Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale 2019, which will be on view between May and November 2019.

The participant curators must have a minimum of eight years of experience in the field of curating contemporary art, verifiable via curriculum vitae with references. The projects to be presented can be collective or individual exhibitions that consider only Chilean artists, and should be created specifically for this contest.

The reception of the curatorial projects, whose deadline is April 13, 2018, will be evaluated and selected by an international jury to then go to the pre-selection phase, in which seven projects will be chosen that must be presented orally to the jury, who will define the winner.
